On behalf of the Canadian Environmental Auditing Association, its conference committee and its Management Committee I want to thank you, personally, and all the staff at the Lord Nelson for your wonderful service, attention to detail and for the opportunity to use your great facilities. Our conference has received rave reviews by our attendees and many special notes about the venue and the staff. Would you please pass my personal thanks also, and specifically, to Christina (unfortunately I did not get her last name) who oversaw our needs on Sunday evening in the Britannia Room for our Board meeting and then on the first day of our conference. I really appreciated her personal attention to detail and concern/interest in our service.

"Dear Mr. Clark:
I wish to extend my sincere thanks to the Lord Nelson Hotel & Suites for the exceptional hospitality show to the delegates of the Canada-United States Coast Guard Summit on September 26-28, 2006.
We are grateful for your own considerable personal assistance and timely response to our main requests. Your attention to detail for our meeting venue, accommodations and meals is most appreciated.
The positive feedback that we have received from members of the visiting United States Coast Guard delegation is a testament to the outstanding venue that we selected to host the conference. Our visitors were impressed by the beauty of Halifax and the warmth and friendliness of its people. As frontline contacts with delegates, the staff of the Lord Nelson Hotel & Suites served as terrific ambassadors for a wonderful city.
Thank you once again for contributing to the successful Canada-United States Coast Guard Summit. Please feel free to use our organization’s name as reference when dealing with prospective Government of Canada clients."

“All aspects of planning this conference with you were enjoyable and seamless. As you know, there were many changes in the planning stages, up to and including the day before the group arrived. Your staff was most helpful and patient with all changes and updates to the program. The conference rooms were exactly what the client was looking for and the food was excellent.
All staff at the property were aware that the group was in house, and everyone we came in contact with were aware of who our client was, which made the guests feel at home.
Your staff in all departments was very helpful, but I wanted to make special mention of Natasha, Krista, all the bellmen and David and Danny from Banquets. Both leading up to and during the conference, these staff made my experience most enjoyable. I felt very well taken care of, as did our client.”

"I had the very good fortune to be one of your guests during a business trip from 13 to 15 of February 2003. I have enjoyed every aspect of my stay in your hotel, but I am writing this to acknowledge a particularly significant help that I received from Ms. Adrienne Hatt (Senior Night Audit), Mr. Walter MacPhee (Night Audit) and their colleagues of the front desk the night of 13/14 February.
I came to Halifax to give a talk as a part of a one day academic visit to the Department of Chemistry of Dalhousie University (the Department suggested that I stay at the Lord Nelson). On the night of my arrival, my laptop computer (which has never ever had any problems in the past) would not boot despite all my attempts. Since my talk is of a very technical nature, it is impossible to conduct it without my own computer because I use several non-standard softwares in the presentation. I started to think of a word of apology to the department of chemistry, since the talk would have been cancelled and the entire trip ruined. However, desperate as I was, I decided to seek help from the front desk at a late hour (1 am).
At the front desk, Ms. Hatt and Mr. MacPhee tried everything under the sun to try booting this machine themselves. They tried to find anything opened that can help, e.g. Kinko's, without avail. After trying to help for over half an hour, Ms. Hatt thought that perhaps the manufacturer might have a 24hr help line of some sort. She managed to put me in contact with the manufacturer (at 1:30 am!) and they walked me step-by-step until the computer finally booted. (It appears that the airport x-ray depolarized the battery).
The next day I was able to deliver my talk as scheduled. I did not forget, of course, to acknowledge the Nova Scotian hospitality of the hotel at the start of my talk (a talk which was very well attended). Subsequently, I told my hosts in the Department of Chemistry about this wonderful experience and thanked them for suggesting your hotel.
I cannot be more grateful to these first class professionals and I look forward to a second stay at the Lord Nelson Hotel. Please convey to them my deepest appreciation and thanks and best wishes."

"I was impressed by all your staff, from front desk to Housekeeping. I found all your employees to be extremely courteous and friendly. I also recognized your staff seems to take pride in their work - exhibiting a great deal of professionalism and efficiency. You are very lucky to have them. Bravo!"

"I've stayed in some of the world's greatest hotels, and I have never had service which compares with that at the front desk. Offering to get me a tie for a fancy restaurant or to call a restaurant to confirm our reservations, and other efforts to make our short stay here more pleasant."

"The reviews could not have been more favorable. Statements like 'classy', 'stylish', 'impressive', and 'premium' were made by most every respondent when describing their impression of your Hotel. And, with Subaru fully focused on enhancing our premium brand image, your facilities were the perfect setting for this message."

"The success of any conference is based, in no small part, on the quality of the accommodations. The recent renovations at the Lord Nelson Hotel have done much to restore the grandeur of a Halifax landmark. Hosting a naval conference in such a location has a certain symbolism which undoubtedly carries over to the quality of the discussions."

Hi Natasha:
"I just wanted to send you a quick note of thanks for all of your help during the Hawken / Martin Wedding Reception last week. I've done a lot of work in the last few years arranging Christmas Parties and corporate events for the company I work for here in Ontario and I've even had the chance to work with several of the so called Toronto "professional" catering groups.
I must confess, they truly pale in comparison to the service we received from you and the staff at the Lord Nelson. It was very refreshing to meet a group of people who are on the ball and understand what "excellent service" really means.
Normally, it seems that I'm the one running around at the last second pulling things together. After seeing your group in action, it was a tremendous relief to let all of that go and focus instead on my own speech duties for the evening. All of the feedback I've received so far has been extremely positive - the food, the service, the facilities - all excellent.
Please extend my thanks to everyone involved, and if you could extend a personal thanks to Andrea on the front desk as well for all her help arranging travel accommodations following our departure, I would be especially grateful.
Thanks again for a wonderful event. And seeing as we now have family living in the area, I'm certain you can count on seeing us again in the very near future."
Sincerely,
C. Hawken
